You got that right. Yukikaze is such a total mega hegga (Warhawk lingo for something along the line of ultra sweety pie, the bomb, shiznit, hot, badass, and whatnot).

The plane's name is 'Yukikaze'. Yukikaze is a FFR-31MR/D Super Sylph [link] . Yukikaze has a near-sentient AI system that is very good at analyzing and interpreting details from data it collects, making Yukikaze uniquely able to identify hidden threats from the enemy (the JAM) that no one else has a clue about.. It also is good at decision making and reacting and getting around loopholes at the right time and place when it identifies a threat.

I have seen the first two episodes in the series. I heard there are three more and two DVDs.

Oh and one thing I forgot to add in is Yukikaze was originally a novel, and that the planes in the novel looked a little less futuristic and strange, and appeared more like jets from 'nowadays'. I dont know if there are any versions of the novel available in English.
